This webpage is similar to the starting menu except that an additional include file (named menuSampleBasic.inc) has been used so that the additional sub-menu of fruit is shown. This include file lists all of these menu items as children to the 'Basic Menu' item. If a different include file had been used providing a different list hanging from the same parent then that alternative list would have been displayed. This functionality could be used for different web pages requiring a similar menu structure.
